Guided Kayak Harbour Tours
Learn about historic Trinity, Newfoundland from our Sea Kayaking Tours. See the waters and sea life of Newfoundland up close and personal! As you paddle, your guide will regale you with history and folklore about the historic town known as ‘the pearl of Newfoundland outports’.
Our knowledgeable guides will teach you how to use your sea kayak with an introduction to proper paddling technique. You’ll also be briefed on the required safety instructions and be fitted with a life jacket before heading out on the guided tour around Trinity Bay. All of our tours are fully insured.

Tow and Go Kayak
Looking for more adventure? Travel to the outer edges of our coastal trip and kayak back to Trinity seeing whales and other wildlife.
We will tow your kayak with your guide and then drop you off in the waters of Trinity Bay, where you will kayak with your guide along the coast back to the town of Trinity. Along the way, you will visit caves, and possibly see puffins and whales.
Tow & Go is not recommended for kids under 15 years of age.

All guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Extended tours can be arranged upon request. All participants are required to sign a waiver before embarking on the water. Due to high demand, kayak tours tend to fill up fast, so we advise booking early to secure your spot.

Here’s how we’ll keep you safe and help you have fun on your unforgettable adventure.
All tours are conducted with tandem kayaks which are more stable and easier to maneuver. In some cases, we allow individuals in singles who are qualified and can demonstrate their skill level to the satisfaction of the guide.
Bring and wear sunscreen, as well as sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun and the glare on the water.
Leave all valuables either in your room or locked in your car.
There are no washrooms on board, so remember to “Go, before you go!”

The harbour kayak tour takes you around Trinity Harbour itself: sea caves, coastal geology, waterfalls, and seabirds from a beautiful protected route. It's ideal for all skill levels and those who want a quieter, more intimate look at the coastline. For more experienced or adventurous paddlers, we can tow you out to a more distant point where you have the chance to encounter whales and other marine life in open water. The experience of a humpback surfacing near a kayak at water level, no engine noise, just the sound of breathing is genuinely unlike anything else we offer. Ask us which option suits you best when you book.
No prior experience is required for the harbour kayak tour. Your guide will give a full safety briefing and basic paddling instruction before you set out. If you want to go further out for the whale kayaking experience, some comfort on the water is helpful, but you don't need to be an expert. If you're unsure, give us a call and describe your experience level. We'd rather have that conversation before you arrive than have you uncomfortable on the water.
Yes, with a qualified guide who understands whale behaviour, which is exactly what we provide. Our guides know how to position kayaks responsibly and keep a safe, respectful distance from the animals. We follow the World Cetacean Alliance guidelines, which we're proud to be a certified partner of. Whales are not a threat to kayakers in these waters; they are simply very large, very curious animals that will often surface nearby and continue on their way. Your guide will read the situation and keep everyone safe.
