When’s the best time to see whales?2021-03-16T12:53:14-02:30

Most whales begin arriving off the coast of Newfoundland during May and can stay here until September or later. However, the warmer months of July and August tend to be when whales are at their highest volume in our Atlantic waters.

What can you expect to see on your tour with Trinity Eco-Tours?2021-03-16T12:55:20-02:30

Here in Newfoundland, we are incredibly fortunate to view a wide variety of whale species, icebergs, and other wildlife, including bald eagles, puffins, gannets, shearwaters, and different types of seabirds throughout the tour season.

The most popular type of whale visiting Newfoundland shores is the Humpback whale. However, there’s certainly no shortage of other whale species, including; sperm whales, minkes, blue whales, killer whales (a bit of a misnomer as Orcas are really members of the dolphin family), potheads and if you’re lucky, you may even get to see a school of dolphins swimming by. What can we say, we’re grateful for the variety of whales that know Newfoundland waters as their home?

We start the season early to view behemoths of ice floating by Newfoundland on their way to the Gulf Stream via iceberg alley.

Can you see whales and icebergs at the same time?2021-03-16T12:53:36-02:30

Depending on when you’re planning to visit Newfoundland, you may be lucky enough to experience a once-in-a-lifetime sight: icebergs and whales together. During May and June, the iceberg season intersects whale season, and you might be able to see both at once! How cool would that be?
